Job Description Ability to comprehend processes and procedures* Able to understand and follow safety rules* Have a working understanding of Tag Out and Lock Tag outprograms* Know and understand basic math* Able to read and write.* Assist shop personnel in accomplishing assigned tasks.* Have a working knowledge of the WAF (Work AuthorizationForms) and its process* Have a basic understand of functional theory - based onassigned trade* Have a general understanding of naval vessel compartmentnumber systems and related vessel terminology * Assist Plate Shop personnel in accomplishing assigned tasks.* Grinding, scaling and other surface preparation activities.* Assisting with some cutting and tackingLearning about Hot work requirements* Become familiar with shop equipment* Become familiar with blueprint reading* Assist with tank testing* Basic hand torch skills* Begin learning about the following types of plating material: steel, copper nickel, aluminum, stainless steel.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum high school diploma/GEDPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum high school diploma/GEDPay InformationThis position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.Employee Benefits: At BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life including health and financial well-being.
